Lovely Māori Purple and White Short Korowai
This lovely Māori Purple and White Short Ceremonial Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length.
The korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Māori lady of Ngati Porou descent. She machine stitches the kakahu to make the garment affordable. It measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8") deep and is lined with black fabric.
The korowai has a Purple, Black and White knitted taniko top, with white feathers at the top, and purple and black (with a sheen like tui feathers) feathers below. If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki design, which spiritually means abundance, prosperity, and care of others.
NB: If we are out of stock at the time you order, allow 2 weeks for it to be made.
