This Short Gold Māori Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length. Particularly good for those of Ngāti Whatua or Taranaki descent, due to the gold iwi colour.
This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Māori lady of Ngāti Porou descent. She learned the art of making korowai from a Northland kuia.
It has a Gold, Black and White knitted taniko top, with gold and jade feathers below. If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki design, which spiritually means abundance, prosperity, and care of others.
This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8") deep. It is lined with black fabric.
