Paua Blue Māori Ceremonial Short Korowai

Paua Blue Māori Ceremonial Short Korowai

This Paua Blue Māori Ceremonial Short Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length.

This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Māori lady of Ngati Porou descent. She machine stitches the kakahu, to make a very affordable garment.

The korowai has a knitted taniko top.  The taniko has a patiki pattern. Pātiki (flounder) designs are based on the diamond shape of the flounder fish. The flounder is a symbol of favourable times, prosperity and good luck.

Below the taniko are beautiful paua blue feathers.

(If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.)

This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8") deep.  It is lined.

NB: If we are out of stock at the time you order, allow 2 weeks for it to be made.

Proudly Māori made in New Zealand, and shipped worldwide.

The korowai is also available in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece.
